Comfort Care/Respite Care

Since my name is Cara, my husband calls me his “Cara-taker.”  I have been his full-time caregiver for over 3 years now.  I know how fatigued both physically and emotionally being a caregiver is! I have learned many comfort techniques and I know that often what is most needed is a kind listener.

Care consists of anything non-medical that provides relief to primary caregivers.  In cooperation with full-time care, I will come read aloud to the patient, create a Sacred Space, bake or prepare a meal, help organize the environment, or anything holistic, helpful, and comforting to the client or family.

Comfort Care

Comfort care is provided as relief to family members to prevent burnout. Comfort care is beneficial to the patient and the family.

Respite Care

Respite Care is provided as relief for the primary caregiver, home health aide, or hospice nurse so that they may attend to themselves.  Perhaps a break is needed for a personal appointment or to meet the needs of their own family members.
